His destination was Cebu City. He was invited to the Sinulog Festival in 2011 along with his co-stars on his first soap, Alakdana.

“Na-realize ko na lang after the flight na mukha akong, what do you call this, indio, mangmang, sabik.

“Natawa na lang ako sa sarili ko. The first flight was business class agad, kasi festival nga siya."

2. Alden’s dream is to become a pilot one day.

“That was me, that’s still me,” he confessed, “One of these days, I would like to study kahit aviation lang.

“Going ano pa nga, I want to be an astronaut, e.”

That was the first time he felt proud of himself.

6. As a suitor, he is ma-effort.

“I do big effort talaga,” he stressed, “Kasi, for me, girls are fragile.

“Especially ’yong mga things like opening the door for them, escorting them as they go down a vehicle or something.

“Big deal ’yon for me, ’yong pagiging gentleman talaga should always come first.”

7. In April of 2008, Alden felt heart-wrenching grief when his mom lost her battle with pneumonia.

“My mom was really a bad smoker,” he said, shaking his head.

“She was having this difficulty in her breathing na parang it’s been regular na, na minsan hindi talaga siya makahinga.”

8. It’s a must that his girlfriend is a non-smoker.

“Since then, I’ve been having issues na with girls who smoke.

“Not naman issues, parang I’m just telling them...I don’t wanna be ’yong pakialamero or something. If I were to have a girlfriend, I would ask her to stop na lang.

“Kasi I don’t want their family to experience what I’ve experienced because of that stick."

9. Alden said he resembles his mom.

He related, “’Yong dimples and then siguro ’yong pagiging very accommodating person.

“Kasi my mom is like that, ‘yong medyo madaldal din kasi ako as you get to know me.

“The way I see it doon sa documentaries sa TV, they’re so big, malaki pa sa eroplano.

"Then nandoon lang sila, pakalat-kalat sa water.“

Even when there’s no scheduled mass, Alden visits the church to pray.

“Whenever I talk to God, sabi ko, ‘Lord, You have the power to take this away from me, and You alone can do that.

“‘I’m willing to give this all to You if you need me to be with You or something.

“‘Kasi I’m not sure, maybe today or tomorrow, something would happen, mawala lahat.’"

12. He is a very thrifty man.

Alden never goes on spending spree.

“Siguro I wouldn’t spend 2,000 pesos for a pair of shoes, unless it’s gift certificate or sale.

“Sometimes I get myself little gifts, like a new watch, mahilig ako sa watch.

“But that happens siguro once a year.

“Pag nagmo-mall, hindi pa rin ako bibili kung hindi sale.

“My handler nga, minsan nagagalit sa akin. ’Yong shoes ko daw paulit-ulit. Kasi matibay, it’s comfy.

He auditioned next for ABS-CBN’s reality game show Pinoy Big Brother. Unfortunately, again, he failed to make it to the final list.

14. If his life were to be made into a movie, he wants John Lloyd Cruz to portray him.

“I’m not showbiz, I really hate that term.

“Sometimes, whenever interviews come, ’yon ang sasabihin ko.

"‘A, baka po kasi sabihin ng mga tao showbiz ako, pero wala po talaga.’

“Madali naman pong umamin kung meron talaga or if totoo talaga, pero kung wala, huwag na po nating ipilit.”

18. He is family-oriented.

Alden’s perennial goal: a better future for his family.

In fact, he is sending his younger sister Riza to college.

19. If he’s given a whole day to go back to how his life was before he became famous, Alden would still like to commute.

The Kapuso host/actor explained, “Kasi before, my first half sa showbiz, I was commuting talaga.

"Bus, ay hindi, tricycle, jeep, bus, and then LRT, then cab papuntang location, then LRT, bus.”

20. He is super appreciative of the support he's been geting from his fans.

“The attention given, it’s heartwarming.

"Masarap ’yong whenever you do mall shows, ’tapos people would go there just to see you.
